What it costs to move your store — re-listing fees plus your own one-off costs — and how many months of fee savings repay it, if ever.

Total one-off cost = re-listing fees for your item count on the destination platform + your own one-off costs. Only Etsy has a modelled re-listing fee here ($0.20 per listing, from the verified fee database). Shopify charges no per-item listing fee. eBay insertion fees are not in the verified database, so they are $0 in this calculation — if you pay eBay insertion fees, add them to your one-off costs. Monthly fee saving = current platform's monthly fees − destination platform's monthly fees at your orders and prices (Shopify includes its subscription). Recovery months = ceil(one-off cost ÷ monthly saving), only when the saving is positive. The horizon benefit = months × monthly saving − one-off cost.
Worked example (defaults): Canada, Etsy → Shopify, 100 items, your one-off costs $200, price $40, shipping charged $8, 50 orders, 12 months. Re-listing to Shopify is $0, so total one-off is $200. Etsy monthly fees $262.50, Shopify monthly fees $131.20, saving $131.30/month. Recovery = ceil(200 ÷ 131.30) = 2 months. 12-month net fee benefit = 12 × $131.30 − $200 = $1,375.60.
Amazon is not in this tool, deliberately — not an oversight and not a “coming soon” badge. Amazon referral fees vary by category (roughly 8% to 45%) and FBA fees depend on size and weight, which this tool does not collect, and Amazon’s Seller Central schedule is login-gated and could not be verified from an official page. No Amazon numbers are shown rather than guessed ones. See the Fee Index for exactly what is missing.
